Mold Remediation in Wichita: Get It Out, Keep It Out
Spotted mold or smell that musty basement funk? We're a Wichita based, IICRC certified crew pulling mold out of Sedgwick County homes since 2003. Done right the first time, or it comes back worse.
Our Mold Remediation Process
-
1
On site visual assessment (same or next day in most cases). We check behind drywall, under flooring, and in HVAC if needed. For larger or insurance-driven jobs, we may recommend professional mold testing by an independent industrial hygienist.
-
2
Containment. Poly sheeting, negative air, HEPA filtration. Spores stay in the work area instead of riding the HVAC into your kids' bedrooms.
-
3
Removal. We cut out and dispose of contaminated materials. Bleach on the surface is not remediation. If your situation started with a leak, we also handle the water damage that caused the mold so you fix the cause, not just the symptom.
-
4
Antimicrobial treatment on the remaining structure to knock down any residual spores and slow regrowth while the area dries.
-
5
Clearance verification. We retest the air or recommend an independent industrial hygienist for larger jobs. You get a real answer about whether the home is safe again, not just our word for it.
What Drives the Cost of Remediation
Every job is different, so we don't quote without seeing it. The main cost drivers are: square footage of visible and hidden growth, what materials are contaminated (drywall vs. subfloor vs. framing), whether HVAC is involved, and whether containment needs to be built to protect the rest of the home. Small bathroom jobs are different animals from whole-basement or HVAC-contamination jobs. For a real number, call us for an on-site visual assessment, we'll walk you through scope and pricing before any work starts.
Insurance typically covers remediation from a covered water loss. It typically does not cover mold from long-term humidity or neglect. If you're not sure, get a free mold inspection in Wichita first so you know what you're dealing with before you call the adjuster.
Live in southern Sedgwick County? We also handle mold remediation in Derby, and for confirmed Stachybotrys situations, see our dedicated black mold removal in Wichita page.
